Joey Camen is a voice actor, comedian and writer.
Biography[]
A naturally funny kid, Joey arrived in Hollywood at the age of 17 from Detroit, MI and after being onstage only four times in his life, he was asked to be a regular performer at the World Famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, making him one of the youngest professional stand-up comics ever. A year later, he was mentored by legendary voice-over actor Daws Butler - better known as the voices of Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound. Mr. Butler helped Joey develop his remarkable talent for characterizations.
As a voice-over actor Joey has worked on numerous projects, including popular video games like Skylanders: Giants, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Mafia II; the online series Sam and Max, where he voiced two seasons as Bosco and the entire Jimmy 2 Teeth family. As well as voicing spots for various TV and radio commercials.
In addition, he was the designated voice of McGruff the Crime Dog for a series of DVDs shown in public schools throughout the United States. As a stand-up comic, he has headlined at top comedy venues in Las Vegas and in comedy clubs across the country.
He was the opening act for The Pointer Sisters, Richard Pryor, and the late Marvin Gaye. Joey’s filmmaking credits include the comedy short, Bernie - a love story about a man and his mattress in which he wore several hats: Writer-Director-Producer and Actor.
The short gained critical acclaim winning the Bronze Award at the Houston International Film Festival.
